Dear Arabic fans, my post today will be about the Arabic alphabet

Let’s have a look.

Basically, they consist of 28 main letters. Therefore, Arabic has 2 main letters more than English. So, a couple of letters more is not a simple issue – it opens possibilities for more vocabulary and versatility.

In addition, if we count 2 more special letters, the hamza ء and the laam alef لا, then we have 30 overall letters.

An important thing to know about the Arabic alphabet is that they can be easily grouped. That is, there are many letters that look very similar in shape. It is useful, therefore, to group the letters into families or categories, where each category consists of similar letters.

For instance, the ‘baa’ family or category consists of the following alphabet letters: baa ب, taa ت, thaa ث, and noon ن.

Now, let’s list our alphabet.
